Deck Construction & Restoration

We construct decks for clients that are built-to-last. Diagonal bracing, hand-applied sealers and stains, and seamless fastening systems create a structure that stands strong against the elements.

Our Deck Restoration Process

Preparation

Tarping off each individual workspace as needed to provide clean and dry working area. Diagnosis and removal of all materials that show moisture, decay, and rot; such as unsalvageable decking planks, railings, balusters, and fascias.

Foundation

Evaluation and repair of foundations are completed as needed. Diagonal braces are used to reduce lateral sway and prevent shifting due to ground erosion. Proper gapping allows the deck to breathe, and flashings are inspected and/or repaired to keep moisture out of the home, ensuring the deck and structure remain protected.

Plank Treatment

Hand application of oil based sealant using microfiber rag on all wood surfaces prior to installation.

Decking

Fabrication, fitting and mounting of all new planks, supports and railings. Multiple coats as needed and to be evaluated and/or applied in between coats.

Cleanup

Jobsite cleanup and final walkthrough inspection with client to ensure satisfaction.

F.A.Q.

What types of materials can be used for building a new deck?

We offer a variety of decking materials including pressure-treated wood, cedar, and composite. Each material has its own benefits and aesthetic qualities, which we can help you choose based on your needs.

How long does it take to build a new deck?

The timeline for building a new deck depends on the size and complexity of the project. On average, a standard deck can take anywhere from one to three weeks to complete, depending on the complexity and how much restoration is needed.

What is the cost of a new deck build?

The cost of a new deck varies depending on the materials used, the size of the deck, and any additional features like railings or lighting. We provide detailed, transparent estimates after assessing your specific requirements.

How long do most decks last?

Wood decks, if properly maintained, can last 25 to 30 years or more. We offer annual service contracts for wood decks that include cleaning and touch-ups, as well as restoration and staining options to help extend the life of your deck. Composite decks, with less maintenance, can also last as long, offering durability and long-term performance. Regular inspections and maintenance can help ensure both types of decks remain in great condition.

Can you restore an old deck, or does it need to be replaced?

Whether a deck can be restored or needs to be replaced depends on its condition. We’ll assess the extent of the damage and recommend the best course of action. Often, decks can be restored if the underlying structure is sound.

Can I customize my deck design?

Certainly! We work with you to design a deck that fits your style and needs. Whether you want a simple platform deck or a multi-level deck with built-in features, we can bring your vision to life.
